Deliberate practice in Odin
mennt (Old Norse: accomplishment, skill, learning) is a deliberate-practice desk for Odin. Guided curricula are leið — the path. Progress lives in the browser by default; optional account sync spans devices. The site never runs Odin and never reaches into the learner’s machine — coding steps are copy-paste guides for your own editor.
Product
Learn Odin. Learn the joy of programming.
The landing page sets the contract: a companion to the official Odin Overview, built to bring joy back to learning. Etymology and myth sit beside a practical promise — guided paths, spaced review, and code with your own editor. Create an account, or start without one.

Library · Setup
Reference that paths actually use
Setup and Library amalgamate every document the curricula lean on — searchable, indexed, and honest that mennt does not run code itself. Initial setup walks install, editor, Hellope smoke test, and how Coding guides work offline with your own Odin CLI.

Unit track
Warmup → Reading → Quiz → Coding → Flashcards
Each unit steps through a clear sequence. Quiz checks understanding before coding guides send you to your own editor. Practice Tools surface flashcards due, sandbox drills, weak areas, and retention settings — so the next session is intentional, not random.

I wanted a place to get better at Odin the way I learn anything hard — clear paths, spaced review, and practice that stays on my machine where I can see the cost of every line.
Craft
Static SPA, optional sync
React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind v4, Vite, React Router, ts-fsrs, and optional Supabase for account sync. Seven isolated leið pillars keep progress separate. Deploy is static assets only — never an Odin execute API.
Problem
Learning systems-level Odin needs structured paths and retention — not a pile of bookmarks and a REPL you forget to open.
Approach
Isolated leið curricula, FSRS flashcards, sandbox guides, and browser progress with optional sync.
Outcome
An active personal practice app: paths, library, quiz, and practice tools — code practice stays on the learner’s machine.
